OJSC Novosibirsk Refinery Plant
Location: Novosibirsk, Russia
Origins date back to 1941 when during WWII, the State Refinery plant in Moscow was dismantled and relocated to Novosibirsk. The 400oz gold bars from the plant in Moscow had been accepted by the London gold market since 1937. From 1941 until 1990, the Novosibirsk Refinery manufactured almost all the USSR’s London Good Delivery 400oz gold bars. Bars were produced from gold mined not only in Russia, but also in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. Currently, the plant can produce about 300 metric tons/year.
